PhraseFold Updates and Compatibility

A Perpetual Right to the Purchased Version

Paying for Pro or Studio grants a perpetual right to use the purchased eligible version within the licence terms. The end of support or the release of a new major version does not by itself cancel this right, but a future macOS or changes in third-party components may make an old build incompatible.

What Updates May Include

• bug and vulnerability fixes;
• compatibility with supported macOS versions and models;
• performance, interface and localisation changes;
• new features and formats;
• removal or replacement of a feature that is unsafe, infringes rights, depends on a discontinued third-party component or cannot reasonably be maintained.

The policy promises no specific release date for an update or feature; a specific update is guaranteed only if expressly stated in a separate written offer. A future major version, an additional model pack or a network service may have separate terms and pricing.

Safe Delivery

The public macOS build is Developer ID-signed, Apple-notarized and accompanied by an HTTPS link, size and SHA-256 in the release manifest. The app and the page do not offer a download when these attributes are missing. Do not install builds or models from unofficial links.

Model and Licence Changes

Local models and third-party components may update separately and are governed by their own licences. If the legal or technical terms of distribution change, PhraseFold may stop auto-downloading the affected component and offer a compatible replacement.

Notifications

Material changes to system requirements, security, network behaviour or compatibility are described in the release notes. A critical update may be strongly recommended, but an outdated local copy is not automatically blocked.
